The 3 R’s of printing are very similar to recycling because the concept is the save help you save ink or toner, paper and money. Printing can become an art form if these rules are followed and respected. Without further ado the first rule of printing is:

Review

How many times have you send out the printing command and realize a typo just blew it all up? You’ll be amazed at how much printer ink and paper is wasted on a monthly basis for not taking the time to review and revise your documents, photos, flyers, cards etc. before clicking the print button. Most programs have a preview page that allows you to zoom in to every part of the project and view as its going to look when printed. Take the time to Review your documents before printing and you’ll see the savings immediately.

Reuse

If the previous step was taken to heart, than this step will not be so easy to comply with because you won’t have much wasted paper to reuse. Do not throw bad printouts to the trash, reuse the paper for notes, not so important print jobs, and drafts that need to be printed and revised before the final printing is commanded. Reusing can be applied to printing on both sides of the paper. Most printers do not have the “duplex” printer feature but you can do it the old fashion style by printing odd pages first, flipping around the pages, inserting them in the printer, and then print the even pages.
