Get to Know Your Ink Cartridge

Printer ink can be found in 3 main forms. Liquid ink that is found in printer ink cartridges, powder ink that is found in laser toner cartridges and lastly the wax or solid ink used in Xerox printers.

Did you ever wonder if everything you heard about ink cartridges is true? We’ve got the answers to your doubts in a closer look into the printing life of your INK CARTRIDGE!!!

The ink cartridge is the component of an inkjet printer that contains the ink and that needs to be replaced once the ink runs out they are probably the most expensive part of owning and running a printer. There are two kinds of inkjet systems:

The thermal inkjet system holds the ink in partitions it could be one, two, or more depending on the type of printer. The ink is inside a reservoir along a heating element with a small metal plate or resistor. When you send the order to print the resistor heats up through a small current and the ink right next to it vaporizes into a very small air bubble and goes into the nozzle. Then the nozzle gets filled with bubbles they push a droplet out and it goes from the nozzle to the paper, and that is all done faster than it took you to read the explanation.

The piezoelectric system differs from the inkjet because it uses a piezoelectric crystal instead of the metal plate or resistor. At the moment the current is applied the crystal changes shape or size and that is the reason the droplet is forced out into the paper.

Inkjet cartridges Truths:

  • Ink cartridges are responsible for smooth printing if the ink dries at the print head, the printing is hindered.
  • The ink works as a coolant for the resistor if you try to print when the ink is too low the heating elements of the cartridge burn out damaging the print head permanently.
  • OEM cartridges are manufactured specifically for printers and guarantee smooth printing, offering quality and performance.
  • Remanufactured cartridges are made from brand new parts and meet or exceed OEM standards, but cost just a fraction of the OEM price.

Ink cartridge Myths:

  • You must use OEM cartridges or your printer if not your warranty will be void. Not true using a remanufactured ink cartridge does not void your printer warranty.
  • Remanufactured cartridges are low-quality and can damage your printer. Our remanufactured cartridges are ISO-9001 certified and have gone through a rigorous testing process and are have our 100% satisfaction warranty.
  • Remanufactured cartridges are cheaper, but the quality isn't as good. Not true you can get the same or better results from remanufactured cartridges.
  • Compatible or remanufactured cartridges have lower page yield. Not true, the page yield / cartridge yield of each cartridge should be stated in product specification regardless of the type of cartridges.
