Saving is a virtue that we all want to develop so take a few minutes and read our ink saving tips to put to practice this next school year.

By now you probably realized that the cost of printer ink cartridges and toner cartridges can add up in the course of the school year. They are an important resource to incredible looking homework assignments. In order to save time and money be sure to prepare your documents before you hit the print button.

Ink Saving Tip 1
Print what is necessary. Be sure you decide what really must be printed and what could just stay online. Internet pages are printer ink's worse enemies, they can waste a lot of ink. So a great saving tip is to highlight the content you want and then click on the "Print Selection" button, it will only print what you highlighted and avoid ink sucking images.

Ink Saving Tip 2
Use aftermarket ink as much as possible. The term is for remanufactured cartridges and compatible ink cartridges. Did you know that alternative cartridges allow you to save up to 70%? The reason is because original cartridges charge you for the brand. Now having said that, we also add that OEM cartridges are important for very important documents that deserve the extra ink and money of course.

Ink Saving Tip 3
Preview before printing. You can't even fathom how much ink you'll save by taking a few minutes to preview your work before printing. And let's not even get started with paper. We know for a fact that people tend to skip this step and live to regret it afterwards.

Ink Saving Tip 4
Print at least once a week. Yes we are telling you to print in order to save ink! If you think that by abstaining for printing and letting it sit in the printer for a while will be the best way to save then you are wrong. By using your printer at least once every week the ink will not dry and thus it will increase the life of the cartridge.

Ink Saving Tip 5
Draft setting or economical printing is a must. Printers have different settings so make sure you read the owners manual and know how you can change the settings to save on printer ink. Most of the documents we print can be printed on draft mode. So change your settings before printing all the time.

Ink Saving Tip 6
Black is beautiful and saves as well. A lot of the time text can be in other colors but if its not necessary use black ink as much as possible. Most printers if not all have a separate cartridge for black and either a tri-color cartridge or separate cartridges for each color. So using black as much as you can helps you replace only one cartridge instead of all of them at the same time.

Ink Saving Tip 7
Use High Yield cartridges. In case you didn't know high yield cartridges print twice as much as regular cartridges. It saves you money and time because you don't have to go through the cartridge changing process soon. Imagine using the previous tips plus this one and you'll really save ink on a long term basis.

So there you have it, seven tips to save printer ink while on school. One more extra tip we want to mention is that when you get aftermarket cartridges you could get more than one every time you shop. With our one year money back warranty you don't have to worry about keeping them stored. And while we are at it remember that we have a one time flat shipping fee so you only pay once for double ink. Back to school printing will now be a success.
