Apple to release iPad Air and new iPad Mini

It seems like the Apple had gone farther from where it first dropped a couple of years ago. Apple, known for its aggressive evolution and revolution, unveiled on Oct 23 that newest version of its iPad, the iPad Air.

According to Apple it is 20% thinner than the previous version. Measuring 24.6cm (9.7 inches) 7.5mm (0.3 inches) thick or I should say thin, and weighs one pound. Apple says it is the lightest full-sized tablet in the market. The baby is powered by the same A7 chip that powers the iPhone 5, which was released in September.

Among the specs you can find a 5-megapixel iSight camera that sports 1080p video capture, Facetime HD front-facing camera and dual microphones. Going on sale on Nov. 1, the pricing is similar to the previous full-sized devices. 16 GB with Wi-Fi will cost about $499 and $629 with 4G LTE and as always the 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB will be available in $100 increments.

Apple also announced a new iPad Mini with Retina display. It included the same 2048-by-1536 display resolution but compacted into a 7.9-inch screen.

The processor is upgraded to Apple’s A7 chip compared to the A5 inside the current model. However, with the new Retina Display feature the new Mini is 0/05 pounds heavier that the non-Retina version.

According to Apple all other tech specs are like the previously model. The expected price will sell at $399 for the 16GB and $529 for the one with 4G LTE. Sales will start November but Apple did not give a specific release date.
